I Choose to Not Repeat Past Mistakes (March 7, 2013)

…and today was one of those mistakes. Lots of driving. Gray skies. Dreary. Slushy. Many errands. Sleepy mommy. This is a recipe for disaster. Unexpected stops, not enough healthy food prepped beforehand. Not good. Not good. Not good!

I was economically savvy and made wise food choices for the kids…no fast food or anything, but I at to much of it. I was in rush hour, gray skies, sleepy, chewing to stay awake…bad move.

We returned home from a missions trip meeting and I was about to get pajama-clad when The Headliner said, “Mom, when do we leave for lessons?” Uh-oh…drum and guitar lessons! I looked at the clock and replied, “Now!” grabbed my coat, set up my phone to text the instructor. I started the car and tossed the phone to Headliner and said, “Text him that we just left a meeting and we’re on our way.”

My original plan for the day included a grocery run while they were in lessons, but I hadn’t eaten yet. I wasn’t going to repeat that mistake learned too many times over. I detoured to Subway. I sadly did not detour to the 6-inch sandwich.

So here we are at bedtime. I’ve entered my 12-inches of seafood sensation to fitness pal. Yesterday’s food diary said, “If you eat like this every day, in 5 weeks you’ll weigh ### [a number 10 pounds lower than I am].”

Today’s food diary said, “If you eat like this every day, in 5 weeks you’ll weigh ### [a number 1 pound less than I am now].”

So I will NOT be eating like this every day.
