We missed dinner. I went to Office Max with J to take advantage of the teacher perks specials for 20% off, one day only. We missed dinner with the family. It wasn’t the shopping trip that made us miss the most comical meal in our household. It was Baby D. We weren’t there long when she filled her diaper. This is not about the girl-child and her diaper.
This is about my salad. My fabulous dinner salad!
Yesterday, my blessed husband called me to see if I wanted a gyro from our favorite place. I yelped into the phone, “Yes, yes! Thank you for thinking of me.” I enjoyed that gyro for lunch.
Last night, as we were cleaning the post-dinner dishes, he looked in the fridge and said, “Whoops! I’m sorry, sweetie. I forgot to tell you there’s a salad here for you.” I decided I would have it as a midnight snack.
But I forgot! And so while I missed dinner, I got dinner. A dinner salad. A HUGE Greek salad. With yummy dressing. And kalamata olives. And jalapenos. And juicy tomatoes. Oh yes, says the veggie-craving, nursing mom…
…dinner salad.
Thank you, Henry!
