LeSueur County has Pioneer Power days. You can deduce what will take place. But when you tell someone that you have weekend plans to go to the Thresher’s Festival, it elicits strange glances. It’s understandable. It sounds as though you are volunteering to get mangled. And it’s a fair question: Why do you want to be threshed?
Well, we did attend the Thresher’s Festival for Scotty County. We had a blast at the flea market, blacksmithery, and saw mill. The wagon ride took us through the grounds. It was sometime along this route that Henry leaned over to me is asked in that tell-me-now-so-I-can-look-like-I-have-a-clue-when-the-boys-ask tone, “What is a thresher?”
Good question.
If you know, you just know. And you don’t know how to explain it in 5 words or less. If you can define a thresher in 5 words or less, please post it in a comment. I couldn’t do it.
But we had fun at the festival!
