Top 3 Reasons Why This Week is Groovy (July 14, 2011)

{Reading time   1-2 minutes}     This is a one groovy week! Truly, it is. A great week. It actually feels like summer. The sun is out, then a little cloudy, then some rain, but mostly in the evenings. So the garden is growing, I’m not paying to water it (I’m also not weeding it…last year for a garden we decided). The kids are finding fun inside and out so there’s balance. But there are some specific reasons why this week is The Bomb!!

3. We already stocked the ice cream inventory for this weekend. BBQ Days this weekend. Parade on Saturday. For those who don’t know, my son operates an bike-powered ice cream cart. The first year of the parade, it was 63 degrees (maybe) and sales weren’t the greatest. Last year, I didn’t get to help much cause it was blazing hot and I was pregnant, a week away from delivery. Hubby stepped up and they were rockin’ the bomb pop sales in the near-100-degree heat. Forecast is for 92 this weekend. But the best part is that we stocked last weekend and I don’t have to make a trip during the week. I’m learning so much through this venture.

2. Baseball season is ending. For many, it’s sad. Not me. I’m just not a baseball mom. Just not. I’ve avoided it since t-ball 6 years ago. I tried. Don’t try to convince me. Not happening. I can do it, but I don’t have to like it.

1. I have people to pray for. When people ask you to pray for them, it means they trust that you have a connection to someone somewhere. I hope I do. I need to cultivate that connection a bit more and praying does just that. There is some serious stuff going on in the lives of so many. Painful, hard, hurtful stuff. Stuff that drives me to God’s Word to get a foundation from which I can pray. I need to be more in the Word, especially in summer when it’s easy to ignore.

What’s got you groovin’ this week?
