Okay, so we worked out a barter, but that’s the same as hiring.
Can I tell you? This is the BEST thing that ever happened to me! Okay, meeting Jesus was the BEST thing. But this is in the top 10 I think.
It’s not the fact that our home has some order to it. It’s actually that I have hope again. And not one of those glimmers of hope that lasts a few days and fizzles out when the 3yo pees on the just steam-vacced living room floor.
This hope is like the reverse of having the wind knocked out of you. It’s like a big gasp of fresh air…100% oxygen intake. A big, “OH MY GOSH! I’m actually getting ahead and nobody thinks poorly of me because I need help and I’m going to have a schedule and keep to it and I’m going to actually be able to school my children and mentally engage with them because there won’t be piles of clutter attacking my brain” gasp of fresh air.
I encourage you to get a dose of this for yourself. Maybe it’s swapping a day with a friend when you go to her house and work on a room and the next week you do a room at your place. Let the kids play; they’ll be fine. Snack on veggies and sort through bins. Or ask your honey if he can take the littles for the morning and clean up the cabinet under the sink (any sink…bathroom, kitchen, whatever!). And when you’re done, snack on healthy veggies and a seltzer water in a wine glass (I’ll have to blog about that…it’s so fun).
Trust me, you do it and you’ll be blogging about your gasp of fresh hope, too!
(Oh, and the tax write-offs from all the thrift store donations!)
I just pray God will use me to bless the organizer for the return barter in a way that gives her this much joy!
Okay, end of entry. I was given two boxes to complete before tomorrow and I must finish my homework!
