You know I have to talk about FOREVER storage. I mean…I made it my work! So what is it exactly?
It’s permanent, private cloud storage for your photos, videos, and documents. It solves the problem nobody wants to think about: what happens to your memories when the phone dies, the hard drive fails, or the subscription lapses. Why did I start using FOREVER storage?
Here’s the thing. My FOREVER story started in 2008, before FOREVER was founded. I was using Creative Memories’ Storybook Creator (now FOREVER Historian 6) to keep my photos organized and easily retrievable.
Storage came later, and it came in clutch. Mid-pandemic, my PC crashed. Like blue-screen-of-death-level crash. My photos were sitting on a rented cloud, and suddenly I needed somewhere permanent to put them. FOREVER became that place.
And now? Auto-upload is on, and every few days I spend a few minutes organizing what came in. It’s genuinely that simple.
Who is permanent photo storage for?
Anyone. No seriously, anyone. It’s anyone whose memories live in five places at once: phones, old laptops, jump drives, and that box in the basement. It’s for the mom who took 400 photos at the birthday party and can’t find one. It’s for the daughter who inherited the albums and doesn’t know where to start.

Before the crash, I was renting space for my memories somewhere I didn’t really control. Now they’re in one place, at full resolution, guaranteed for my lifetime plus 100 years. It wasn’t an overnight miracle. It was one bad day (and a very blue screen) that pushed me into a better system.
How do I get more out of FOREVER storage?
A few things I’ve picked up along the way:
- Turn on auto-upload and let the facial recognition add-on do the rest. My photos land in my account, and my humans get found without me tagging anyone.
- Invite your family in, so the memories stop living on one person’s phone; you can even add managers to the account.
- Let your photos leave the cloud. I share albums with a QR code or link, and when something deserves more than a screen, I turn it into a photobook or a print gift, like the coasters I made from this year’s family commencements.
