We survived it. And I never want to drive in it again. Atlanta is definitely the city for public transportation.
We left Augusta much later than originally planned, but it was for a worthy cause. Henry was able to spend some quality time with some of our nieces. He slept in and I think that made us happier folks for the two hour drive into ATL.
You can see that we were visiting cities that a tourist could spend months exploring; the same is true for Atlanta, but we only had one day. So we focused our time at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-Violent Social Change. The Ghandi Room was interesting. I also didn’t know that MLK had an eternal flame like JFK.
Henry and the boys watched a movie while G and I went to a gift shop to peruse. He was semi-interested in the movie, but not for long. We spent a bit of time in Fire Station #6, then strolled into Freedom Hall. The Rosa Parks room had a beautiful freedom quilt where we snapped a shot of the boys. The quilt was amazing!
