Because when you are not a clothes horse and you have a baby girl, you get inundated with clothes. Unless you have a fashionista friend or relative, you will be overwhelmed in a mere number of days. Trust me, you will. See post previous to this.
My sister and cousin visited this past weekend. They came to meet the girl child. I put them to work. When they thought they’d be hugging and cuddling the niece/cousin-once-removed, they were sorting into piles categorized as 6 mos, 18 mos, etc.
And just as I expected, they didn’t just sort, but they assessed: cute, not cute, only put her in this with this.
I need them because I am not them. I appreciate them because I know my weaknesses. Ask me how to make a pie crust from scratch, no problem. Need a book reference for your child who “refuses to read?” I’m your girl! But me and clothes don’t get along.
My daughter won’t have that problem. Her aunt is already planning to take her to Paris when she’s 17. (I asked if I could come along…she said yes.)
