They Earned the Fair (September 6, 2008)

The prize for reading for 20 hours through the library reading program was a ticket to the Minnesota State Fair. Our two older boys more than surpassed that goal. Unfortunately, T was not as diligent in tracking his time, so didn’t get the prize. But he did participate in the library Chess Tourney, which did earn him the ticket.

We didn’t think we would be able to go with all the health challenges. You know: asthma…dust…fairgrounds…dust. But we decided that if we went super early, we could get out early and manage the breathing. So we loaded the nebulizer in the van and headed to the great Minnesota get-together.

When it was time to go, we thanked the boys for getting us into the fair. Our first taste of them paying us back!
