My cravings came at the tail end of the cycle this time. Don’t you hate that?! You think you’ve conquered the beast and the beast sneaks up from behind and smacks you in the head with a box of Girl Scout cookies (which, by the way, I will not be buying again because they just don’t taste good). I only had 2 cookies. A sad use of 90 calories, in my opinion. In past years, I would’ve scarfed down the whole box. Progress. But I digress…
Anyway, for these moments I am choosing to forgive myself:
staying up too late when I know it will affect my ability to teach the next day.
forgetting to eat breakfast and thereby creating a downward spiral of my mood that I didn’t catch until TOO LATE!
not writing down the brilliant ideas that would’ve been great contributions to the book that my a few of you are confident I have it in me to write one day.
all the other things that poke at the guilt-sensor in my brain and heart.
Don’t have time for guilt. I do have time for other activities:
drifting to sleep and enjoying every minute of it.
planning my breakfast the night before so I don’t forget.
trusting God to give me something to say if/when this book is to be written.
reciting Romans 8:1 all the day long. (no, I’m not going to write it here; either you know it or you are going to make time to look it up so you can enjoy this level of guilt-free living)
There is power in choice. There is power in forgiveness.
Is there exponential power is choosing to forgive oneself?
