We’re back to school after a wonderful, family-focused Christmas break. What joy it was to have daddy home for two weeks and just relax.
We’re up-n-at ’em on schooling now and focusing our unit on Courage on the American Revolution. So much to cover, so many interesting characters, so little time! I’ve learned more about the American Revolution in the last three days than I ever did (or paid attention to) in my educational training. So even if we quit today, my kids have more on the subject than I did.
But it is INTENSE! There isn’t one minute to be wasted because there’s someone else to learn about. Another video to watch. Another book to read. We’re even creating a picture gallery of paintings from that time period. Fascinating stuff!
Tomorrow we get to make our colonial costumes to dress for the period. And in the next week or so, we get to go to a jewelry store to learn about silversmithing and engraving.
I’m overwhelmed with it all, but so hungry to learn more along with the boys. So if you call and the phone isn’t answered, we’re just back in the late 1700s. We’ll call you when we get back!
