We disembarked the metro at Foggy Bottom and began our hike to the Lincoln Memorial. The boys were road-hardy this day, but we gave them a rest at the gift shop, choosing to sit at the outside tables and enjoy ad peanut butter sandwich and water.
Henry then said, “That was Dr. Lowe that just went in there.”
“No way!” I replied. Dr. Lowe was Henry’s chemistry professor in college. I went to the gift shop just as the man was coming out. “Are you Dr. Lowe?” I inquired.
“Yes, I am,” he confirmed.
Henry then arose and we learned that Dr. Lowe is on assignment with the state department for the year.
